Renee Bevirt was born in Midland, Michigan where she lived
until the family moved to Hong Kong.
During the several years exploring the Orient, Renee had the opportunity
to travel extensively to many exotic spots around the world. Renee's eclectic Asian style is strongly
influenced by her travels.
Renee attended Michigan State University graduating with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture. Employed doing architectural drafting, kitchen and bath design, she also managed her own business doing landscape design and consulting. More travels and a Master of Business Administration from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
After moving to Houston, Renee became a licensed financial advisor for many years. She happily returned to her passion of personalizing intimate outdoor spaces by establishing Purple Vines in 2013.
Renee uses spatial relationships and proportions to capture movement and develop visual site lines. Rock walls, moving water, vine covered trellises and sculptural features form unique outdoor spaces. She prefers a softscape palette that includes hardy drought tolerant natives plants.
